Tennis in the United States is played on three kinds of places: public park courts run by a city or county, member clubs and country clubs with their own pros and leagues, and commercial tennis centers that sell court time by the hour. Public courts are usually free and first come, first served, with a posted limit (often 60-90 minutes when others are waiting); busier cities run online reservation systems with a small fee and a permit for the season. Indoor courts are rented by the hour and booked days ahead in winter. Most facilities are hard courts; clay is common in the Southeast and at private clubs, and grass is rare. Lights extend play into the evening at many parks, sometimes with a coin or app-operated switch.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 6 am–7:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 36 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded tennis courts in Hampton.

Hampton is in Virginia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Hampton is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Virginia's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This is hands down one of the best free public courts in the state of Virginia!!!! Well maintained courts, free use of overhead lighting until midnight and five spacious adjacent courts. The only thing I suggest is five more just like it on the other side since there is so much open land left to be utilized. And although the port-a-potty is nice, structured restrooms would be nice and locked at midnight since lights go out at this time.

Good to see my old friend Frank. Got a chance to hit like old times. Great!

Beautiful courts. Im new to the area and was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the courts. They appear brand new or else are very well maintained. I do wish they had a practice wall, the perimeter is all chain link fence. I have never been there and not found multiple courts unoccupied.

The courts had been resurfaced recently, and are already showing bad spots of poor installment. Lighting is ok. Bleachers that were there previously, were never put back. The gazebo / picnic table should be longer. All of the trees need to be cut down that surround court #5 ( because of the debris ). And that is also where the tennis wall should be installed.

Since the courts have been rebuilt from the ground up, they are wonderful. The new surface is Deco-turf, the same as at the National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York. The lighting is also new, and is far superior to the old lights.
